Two Specialisms, One Goal: A Day in the Life of Our Account Executives

What does a typical day look like for an Account Executive at Servca? To find out, we followed two of our specialists to see how their roles compare in practice.

At Servca, our brokers bring deep expertise across a wide range of risk areas. While they share the same goal of delivering the best outcomes for clients and broker partners, no two days are ever quite the same.

To showcase what we do, we spoke with Zack Priestley, whose focus is on professional indemnity and liability, and Alex Hoeffler, who specialises in medical malpractice. Their insights reveal just how varied and dynamic life as an Account Executive can be.

Zack Priestley – Professional Indemnity & Liability

For Zack, the day starts early with reviewing overnight market updates and responding to client and broker enquiries. Working across professional indemnity and liability means balancing a broad mix of risks, from SMEs to more complex corporate accounts.

“A big part of the role is understanding each client’s business and the risks they face,” Zack explains. “No two cases are identical, so you’re constantly assessing exposures, negotiating terms and finding solutions that work commercially.”

Much of his day is spent liaising with insurers, preparing submissions and negotiating cover. Relationship-building is also central to the role, whether that’s supporting existing broker partners or developing new connections across the market.

“The pace keeps things interesting,” he says. “You need to stay adaptable and responsive, especially when clients are working to tight deadlines.”

Alex Hoeffler – Medical Malpractice

Alex’s role brings a different set of challenges and expertise. Specialising in Medical Malpractice requires a detailed understanding of healthcare risks, regulatory considerations and the specific pressures faced by medical professionals and organisations.

“Medical malpractice is a highly specialised area, so attention to detail is critical,” Alex says. “We are often dealing with professionals who are working within pressurised environments day to day, this is why its is pivotal we can provide reassurance as well as technical expertise.”

A typical day will involve supporting clients, reviewing complex risk profiles, and reaching out to relevant underwriters or supporting broker partners to provide bespoke cover solutions. Due to healthcare constantly evolving, staying informed on industry developments is an important part of the role.

“There’s a strong advisory element,” Alex explains. “Clients rely on us to spot gaps in their cover and guide them through complex insurance requirements, with the ultimate goal being providing peace of mind that they are properly protected.”

One Team, One Shared Purpose

While Zack and Alex work in different specialist areas, there are clear similarities in their approach. Both emphasise the importance of communication, technical knowledge and building long-term relationships.

At Servca, collaboration across teams allows specialists to share insights and provide tailored solutions across multiple classes of business. It’s this combination of expertise and service that helps deliver positive outcomes for clients and broker partners alike.

Whether handling professional indemnity, liability or medical malpractice risks, Servca’s Account Executives are united by a common goal: providing trusted advice and placing clients in the strongest possible position.
